Priority Master 2008 Tips:

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) New Full Time DEFENDER -  If  you are going to use this on a regular basis, at the beginning of the day, select the "Include NonWindowed processes(ALL)" wait two seconds and then uncheck the item. This will set all of the processes in the system and even Windows processes to idle. Most will not attempt to reset their priorities and turning this option OFF reduces CPU overhead to about zero! However, if want to prioritize items like these, check the Include Invisible Windows.

reddot.gif (334 bytes) Put your wireless mouse in the RealTime - CD/DVD Burner group (mouse32a.exe). Those programs are not effected by the Full Time DEFENDER and get FAST mouse response always.

reddot.gif (334 bytes) Put your wireless USB LAN  in the RealTime - CD/DVD Burner group (WDLAN.exe). Those programs are not effected by the Full Time DEFENDER and get FAST mouse response always.

TIP OF THE WEEK:

smallnew.gif (926 bytes)If you are using Yahoo Messenger, put it into the CD/DVD Burner - RealTime Class. This works the same in both Full Time DEFENDER mode and Advanced User mode. It will provide better connection and better cam performance.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) If you are running in Advanced User Mode (not running the Full Time DEFENDER), put the explorer.exe into the Idle Class. This will prevent any background activity from interfering with the foreground application.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) If you have any keyboard or mouse programs, put them into the CD/DVD Burner - RealTime List. This insure that the mouse and keyboard activity gets the best performance and reaction time.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) If you have a weak machine with a modem connection that drops the connection a lot, just use the default Full Time DEFENDER mode to reduce or eliminate disconnection.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) Use the HOT List to launch programs at a specific priority at system boot time. This uses a dynamically constructed environment specifically tailored to the working directory of the program. As a result, it does not search through all of the system paths to get what it needs.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) Use the Class Analysis to check how much physical memory is actually being used and your Program Class Distribution. Getting all 4 classes in the NOMINAL state gives the best possible response time and maximum possible throughput when the CPU is at 100%.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) Run your defrag, antivirus, and spyware cleaner programs as much as you want. Just use the Full Time DEFENDER - the default mode.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) Programs priority in the RealTime CD/DVD Burner List are not affected when the Full Time DEFENDER is activated.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) If you use Zone Alarm, put it into the RealTime - CD/DVD Burner group for best performance.

bluedot.gif (923 bytes) If you are having a problem with the explore.exe consuming most or all of the CPU and making your machine slow, then do 1) add it to the Idle group or 2) use the Full Time DEFENDER and put it in the background.
