Foreground/Background control - Set the priority of the background higher than the foreground (program that has keyboard and mouse focus) application when you want the background program to have more CPU power. You can also set the foreground priority such that in the background it can have extremely low priority and when in the foreground it has extremely high priority. You can also set the foreground priority such that it takes full control of the CPU and background applications get little or no CPU time. This is so powerful that it is just unbelievable. For example: PestPatrol hogs the CPU when running. You set the priority to be Idle 4 and the foreground priority to be High 13. So it runs in the idle CPU cycles when in the background and does not effect performance. Give it foreground focus and it is instantly High 13 and you can delete all of the monster metering tools that web sites deposit on your machine. Then, select the desktop background and it instantly goes back to Idle 4. This massive level of performance and control exists only in Priority Master 2009. This tiny little feature is worth well over 10 times the cost of the program!

Eliminate painful time consuming directory drilling. Do you frequently use the Explorer to view a file list that is deeply nested? What - 10, 20 or even 30 mouse clicks on the plus sign? Just add the Explorer to the Hot List or Run List and use the directory path as the Optional Parameters. Start it from the Hot or Run List with a few mouse clicks and the explorer will start in the target directory when it loads.

Downloading/Uploading - Use the program to increase the priority of the session doing the upload/download to get the fastest time.

Playing a DVD or CD - Just add the player program to the Favorites (CD/DVD players) list. That will give the program the same priority in the background as in the foreground.

Surf the Web - Use the program to increase the priority of your internet browser. You should be using your CPU to it's fullest extent by running background processes while you surf the web. You should add your browser to the "Favorites" group to get the best performance.

Kill those endless annoying pop-ups when surfing. Ever do something like hit the bouncing ball to win $1000 and a pop-up is displayed? When you close the pop-up another appears! You can't close them fast enough and you get dozens of them trying to close them all. Simply start IEXPLORE or NETSCAPE and select the auto-exit feature. Close the Priority Master application and all of the pop-ups will exit. Start the browser again and remember to select the auto-exit feature to be safe. You do not have to reboot your machine!

Network Transfers - Use the program to increase the priority of the session doing the upload/download to get the fastest possible download time.

File/Application/Web Servers - Set the priority of the maintenance activity very low so as not to interfere with the sever activity. For example, if you need to defrag the hard drives, set the priority to Idle. That will give the least impact on that activity that the server is doing. Do the same for administrative tasks. Start a group of programs at specific priority levels all at once at system start up time using the Hot List. Everyone has at least one program that they run every time they use their computer. There is simply no better way to automatically start and prioritize your programs.

Close a group of programs all at once when the Priority Master 2009 program exits using the auto-exit feature. This is very effective in testing cases in which you want to start and kill a number of programs all at the same time.

Get the maximum performance that your machine is capable of doing. The Class Analysis feature is the ultimate performance meter. By having programs that span the priority range provided by the operating system, enormous performance benefits are achieved. High priority programs will respond much faster and low priority may not get any performance robbing CPU time. It is all about response time. Also, the amount of physical memory usage tells how much memory is available to run additional programs.

In severe memory overcommit scenarios, the response time can be decreased from minutes to seconds for a single high priority program. On a machine with 128MB of memory, run enough programs to fill 1GB of memory. Now make the priority of the one program that you need a fast response to High or RealTime. The time that it takes to get this program into memory and start responding could be as much as 100 times faster! In rare cases when a program accidentally consumes all available memory and pagefile disk space, you are toasted. Using Priority Master 2009 to increase the priority, you can still get good responses by using the DEFENDER modes.
