Setting the priority of programs is everywhere. The programs themselves have settings to change the priority of background tasks, there are dozens of priority setting software programs, Windows even provides a rudimentary "Task Manager" to change programs priority.

However, ALL of these piecemeal methods to set the programs priority have potential disastrous performance and control problems:

Permanently set the program's priority. Simple as a right mouse click on the program name in the main window GUI, in the explorer or on the desktop icon.

Basic and Advanced User. The basic user is fully automated and employs the Full Time DEFENDER(FTD) that puts all background programs into Idle priority. This gives the widest possible difference between the foreground and background applications. The Advanced User puts programs into one of the 6 priority classes (RealTime, High, Above Normal, Normal, Below Normal and Idle). There are a total of 11 Lists to put programs into and these define the behavior any time that they start to run.

Visually identify the program's priority right on the window title and on the Task Bar. This is the default and can be turned OFF. When you can see the priority right on the screen, it is a million times easier to get the "big picture" and effectively manage your priorities.

Automatic Foreground Priority Boost. This is the default and can be turned OFF. Gives better performance for the foreground application. Optionally, add programs to the Foreground Exclusion List not to boosted when in the foreground. This solves the problem of a jittery or non-responsive mouse.

Automatically Terminate Program by name. Stop recurring spyware/adware and other programs that you do not want to run automatically. Simply add the program in to the Automatically Terminated programs List.

Automatically Terminate UnListed RealTime Programs. These programs can freeze the keyboard and mouse. They can do severe damage to your system. This will automatically terminate any RealTime priority program that was not entered into any of the six priority lists.

Automatically Terminate All UnListed Programs. In Advanced Mode, enter all of the programs you want to allow to run. All programs that were present at startup are automatically acquired. New programs starting that are not in one of the prioritized Lists are automatically terminated! This gives full control and security over the entire system. Three levels of priority scanning for programs on the Task Bar, Invisible window programs and All programs. Minimum scanning uses very little CPU time. This is typically only 0% to 3%.

Automatic priority "jack hammer" checks about once per second and forces the original priority that user set if the program tries to dynamically change it's priority. You set the priority, you get that priority all of the time.
