This dialog box shows the overall design and layout of the program. It is important to note the that the system tray icon displays the current User Mode: Basic User or Advanced User. This is also displayed on the top line of the main window GUI.

Priority Master 2009 is specifically designed to work instantly just after a fresh install. All program prioritization are done fully automatically in Basic User Mode (Full Time DEFENDER(FTD)). It automatically boosts the priority of the foreground application and simultaneously lowers the priority of background programs. The system tray icon will have the "FD" for Full Time DEFENDER to let you know that the system is in FTD mode. In this mode you do NOT set the priority of the programs - it is done for you automatically. This instantly improves about 75% of all supported Windows for normal operation. Do absolutely nothing other than install and your machine simply runs better. Note that you add programs into the various priority lists, but they will not be set to their assigned priorities until you switch to Advanced Mode.  When you do switch to Advanced mode - all the programs in the stored priority lists will be instantly and automatically reassigned their respective priorities.

How to switch between Basic User Mode and Advanced Mode

There are three ways to switch between Basic User Mode and Advanced Mode:

1) Right mouse click on the system tray icon and select "Full Time DEFENDER" in the menu. On the dialog box, check or uncheck the
"Activate Full Time DEFENDER" check box. Note that the menu will have a check mark if you are in Basic User Mode (Full Time DEFENDER Mode).

2) Selecting and Advanced feature from the main window toolbar while in Basic User Mode will prompt you to go to Advanced Mode. These can be the "A", "M",  or "D" on the toolbar.

3) Selecting the "Full Time DEFENDER + Refresh" from the Options in the main window GUI by right clicking anywhere in the text field.

Note: When switching from Basic User Mode to Advanced Mode, the program priorities will be instantly and automatically set to the priority in the stored Lists (RealTime, High, Above Normal, Normal, Below Normal and Idle).

Selecting the amount of Programs to be scanned and CPU overhead

The default is to control all processes in the system except the ones specifically excluded from the main window GUI. Only the programs in the main window GUI are under Priority Master 2009's control. To reduce CPU overhead, you limit the number of programs being scanned by their type. By removing the check mark on the "Include All Processes" from the right mouse in the main window GUI you can greatly reduce the CPU overhead. You can further reduce CPU overhead by removing the check mark on the "Include Invisible Windows". If both "Include Invisible Windows" and "Include All Processes" are not checked, the scanning is limited only to programs on the Task Bar. In this mode, you will use almost 0% overhead. Use the least amount of scanning to get the least amount of CPU overhead.

Foreground Exclusion List

If the mouse becomes jittery, jerky or unresponsive, then locate the program in the main window GUI and select by highlighting. Use the right mouse click and select "Add to Foreground Exclusion List". This will remove the foreground boost that is automatically applied to the foreground program and restore movement to the mouse.
